Ein wichtiger Teil unseres Forschungsvorhabens ist, die unterschiedlichen Routen, die der sozialen Kognition und sozialen Emotionen zugrunde liegen, zu identifizieren. Wir arbeiten an einem Model welches die verschiedenen Aspekte der sozialen Kognition eint.
Ein weiterer wichtiger Fokus der Abteilung Soziale Neurowissenschaft befasst sich mit der Plastizität des sozialen Gehirns und untersucht die Trainierbarkeit von sozio-affektiven Funktionen.
Erfolgreiche soziale Interaktion ist nicht etwas, was man von Geburt an kann, sondern es muss sich langsam entwickeln. Säuglinge und Kinder durchlaufen mehrere Entwicklungsstufen, um die Fähigkeiten zu erlernen, mit anderen mitzufühlen oder ihre Mitmenschen zu verstehen und dann entsprechend zu handeln.
